A Plus Home Tutoring

Hello, I'm Paige. I offer the convenience of individual tutoring in person in the Petaluma area or online. My areas of specialty include:

• Mathematics: all levels up through and including precalculus, calculus and statistics
• General science, biology, chemistry, environmental science and high school physics
• All levels of the writing process, including AP Language and Literature
• Study skills and organization
• Homework help, remediation and review, and concept attainment
• Individualized summer review and enrichment or support for summer classes
• Study support for APUSH, AP Psychology, AP Gov, AP Human Geography
• Homework help, remediation and review, and concept attainment
• SAT, ACT, CAASPP, ASVAB tests and other test preparation
• College admissions essay preparation
• Independent study and homeschooling: I support online and independent learning and can help families devise an independent learning plan

In addition to in-person sessions, I work with students remotely via Zoom. I tailored my process for online tutoring through necessity during covid remote schooling, but I now find that this allows me to work with students from a wider geographic region, such as students on foreign exchange or current students who have moved away to college. Other students like the convenience of meeting from home. To enhance my online tutoring, I use a combination of screensharing, writing together in a shared google doc, and a shared online whiteboard. The shared whiteboard allows both the student and I to write, upload documents and worksheets, and save our notes as a pdf to refer back to later.

I have experience tutoring students in a wide range of subjects and grade levels.

I hold California multiple subject and single subject mathematics teaching credentials, and have taught in public schools, so have gone through fingerprinting and background checks prior to working as a tutor. Having raised 3 kids through college, I understand the challenges students and parents experience as we balance home, school and extracurriculars.

I have tutored students from many local and private schools as well as those uusing local independent study programs. I work with students atttending Santa Rosa Junior College, private colleges and 4-year universities. In addition, I have helped a diverse variety of homeschooling families, both to support their studies through structured independent study programs, and to support their independent homeschooling journeys.
